I can't seem to beat it. The description states that the gunship should have overwhelming firepower, yet upon engaging the fleet around Io, the gunship gets its reactors shot out pretty quickly and is destroyed in the 3v1 (in 3/3 attempts this is where I've lost) In fact, in none of my attempts did I manage to even disable a single enemy ship from this fleet.
I've tried softening the enemy up by firing flak missiles at them first; but they have a lasership and one of the ships has flares; so this tactic will not work. (Particularly since I tend to use up >50% of my missiles attacking the marauders around Europa). I've tried different intercept velocities varying from being retrograde to the enemy and and phasing from a slightly higher orbit.

fire the flak missiles singly to waste their flares, then send missiles in large waves once he is out.

Disable the missile's engine and leave it on homing mode. Enemy ships drop flares if they have something homing in on them, regardless if it;s actually closing in or not
