Could someone give a baseline design? Preferably something simple but reasonably effective that can be used as a starting point. I have a feeling battles could be really one-sided, seeing some of the highly optimized designed floating around, so maybe having a reasonable baseline would help mitigate this issue. Since you are limiting the number of missiles I assume there is a similar limit on drones? What AI behavior is going to be used (Aggressive, Balanced, Cautious, etc.) or can the designer choose? (I imagine some combinations of AI behaviors could produce a lot of draws.) I'm assuming the 200 missile limit also applied to drones, so you can have 100 missiles, and 100 drones. AI behaviour (I thought) is the designers choice. I don't know. I could imagine there being balance issues with having different ai

Is there any ship/module naming convention to be adopted, like prefixing the submitter's name (as suggested by goduranus in another thread)?

The cost limit was discussed quite a bit in other threads. 5 Mc is actually a middle ground compromise.

Is there a reliable way to convince the stock AI to start an engagement nose forward, and remain nose-forward?

Is there a reliable way to convince the stock AI to start an engagement nose forward, and remain nose-forward? Put a weapon on nose with longer range than any others (even a tiny underpowered laser with custom range) and pick a AI that prefers "broadside" (i.e. pretty much all of them). Having a weapon on nose may defeat the purpose to some extant, but maybe not if it's small enough.

Btw it would be nice to see some tournament entries. Since no one has officially asked to become a host DM me your designs. I really don't want to do this alone so if you want to help. Please say

I can offer to take the designs too and claim I made them, to host the tournament via YouTube Recordings.
