We're stuck inside Eros, and all we know is that we should expect an attack force soon. How large? When exactly? We don't know, and we can't open the shutters to find out without giving away our position. We've got to come out swinging, and bring the best ship we possibly can.
We do have a full nanofab array (no nuclear refinery, but chemistry, nanostructuring, and biomanufacturing are ok), and plenty of hangar space. And there's hundreds of technicians and engineers here, even plenty of pilots. We do know we have enough time to build pretty much any reasonable ship -- or even multiple ships, if we so desire.
We have all the materials you could want, with one exception. We have precisely one kilogram of U-233, and no other fissiles. If we made it into oxide we'd get 1.13 kg. Oh, and we have a little bit extra to account for radioactive decay during construction. Rest assured that you can fly out of here with 1kg of U-233 distributed however you like. I know what you're thinking; what about the station's main reactor? Surely we can use some fuel from that, right? No dice. And there's a perfectly rational reason for that, which you don't have security clearance to know.
There is one bit of good news: our informants tell us -- with very high certainty -- that the enemy also has extremely limited fissile supplies. Good luck.
CHALLENGE: Build the most powerful warship(s) possible, while using no more than 1kg of U-233, and no other fissiles. (1kg of pure U-233 is equal to 1.13kg of U-233 oxide, and 1.16kg of 97% enriched U-233.) [NEW] The final ship/fleet must cost 250 Mc or less. Rankings of "power" will be determined by forum consensus combined with in-game head-to-head combat. Flexible combat capability is preferred.
GOLD LEVEL: <=500 grams
PU-244 LEVEL: =100 grams (The minimum core mass)
UNOBTAINIUM ALLOY LEVEL: Some as other levels, but with modded materials.
Technicalities: Aside from your 1-kg chunk of U-233, you may use only one other unstable element: tritium. There is no limit to the amount of tritium you may use, aside from your good judgement. You have 1 kilogram of Depleted Uranium available for reactor and core construction. To avoid Death Star armoring, your total mission budget is 250 Mc.

Yes, but only if you use tritium. I say that because the game considers it a fusile, not a fissile, and anyway without tritium it'll be hard to make boosted nukes. I'll even let you use mods that trick the game into allowing molten or gaseous tritium in RTGs. Entries that do use such mods, however, will have a separate league. No unstable elements heavier than tritium, aside from U-233, are allowed. EDIT: I've been playing around, since tritium melts at 21K, it's not actually possible to make a tritium RTG with stock CoADE. Love this challenge! I'm submitting a single long-range needle-gun and missile ship. Conveniently named 1Kg U233. It fights best with the "ranged" AI pre-set. Hopefully it can set a benchmark and keep future challengers honest. (I expect gun-drone and flak missile fleets to dominate).

With no constraint I'm torn between ludicrously cheap (like I usually do) or ludicrously expensive (with like 10 layers of 10 meter armor that costs Gc but still meets the 100g of U-233 challenge over all).

I suppose that some level of price ceiling is needed, if only because yeah, when your ship really is armored like a small moon, the challenge does start to fade out. That said, cost is not the primary concern here. I'm going to go with 250 Mc, which seems to be an exceptionally expensive, but still practically achievable, price. I'll update the OP.

Here's my entry, the Sundiata. It uses Flourine-Hydrogen engines, with the Flourine stored in drop tanks so as to make it easily jettisonable in case of containment issues. I managed to squeeze 78 MW out of 1.13 kg of U-233 dioxide, which is really quite a lot to work with.
